Dear People,
Until now we haven’t been mentioned much. SO here we are with what we are up to.
First, I Sookie, will start, and then catch you up on the other one.
I guess I should start out with how I begin the day. Rory starts crying around 8am and of course they let him come in my bed. I of course have to entertain him a little before I take him out to the yard to do his business. Being a lady, I don’t like to do my business in from of my people, so I wait until later when I’m alone. Next it’s in for breakfast and then I take mommy dog, daddy dog, and Rory on a walk around the grounds. I have been lucky that there are lots of deer in the yard and I find their droppings delectable. Mommy dog usually stops and picks up weeds for the house. Rory acts crazy and Daddy dog supplies us with hotdogs. Next it’s in for a nap while Mommy and Daddy dog go on another walk. I can hear Mommy dog saying naughty words as she gets closer so I know when they are nearly home. The rest of the day is usually mine to do my relaxing in the lounger in the yard that Mommy dog likes to call hers. I of course let her pretend and sit there when she is outside. That’s about it: relaxing and entertaining Rory.
Rory on the other hand is quite busy. I guess he doesn’t realize that we are on holiday. And I guess as long as he stays out of my way I’ll keep it quiet. He spends most of the day keeping the yard safe. I guess it’s like having my own personal body guard. He is especially busy keeping the lizard population under control. And when it’s not lizards he’s hunting, it’s keeping the trash receptacle outside the fence safe from intruders, and then keeping the little dog next door updated with the village news.
On hunting day he is a nut. He runs around all day whining and trying to tell the hunting dogs something. He however does it so loud and frantic that none of us can translate. Perhaps he’s the one that has learned Italian first? Doubtful!
He only rests after protecting the yard all day and we are cozied up inside next to the fire.
So there you have it, a little about what we are up to while here in Italy.
Hope you enjoy the pictures Mommy dog took of me while relaxing and of Rory while hunting lizards.
P.S. He finally caught one today with the help of Mommy dog, but lost interest in it when it played dead.
Ciao, Sookie Dog

What beautiful faces. Their butts are ok, too.
