We recently went back to Isola Maggiore and this time we took A.J.’s mom Trudy. She was excited to walk in the footsteps of St. Francis, to see the vistas he viewed, to adore the rabbits he saved. We of course having been before were looking forward to another visit to enjoy all the island had to offer. This time the island had a little less to offer than last time, no sweet ladies out making their famous lace, no bars open selling delightfully perfect espressos and no one anywhere to interrupt the peacefulness. All these things were great while we were in the warm sunlight of a lovely February day, but less charming when we missed a ferry and spent more time on the island than we had planned for, quickly missing the sunlight and our warm coats left on the main land. Luckily we had a most beautiful sunset to keep us company until the last ferry picked us up and took us thankfully home. Enjoy the sunset with a nice cup of coffee for comfort…

ReplyDeleteWow, I'll bet you weren't too bummed about leaving your jackets when you got to see that amazing sunset! Gorgeous.
